“When the cares of my heart are many, your consolations cheer my soul.”
— Psalms 94:19 ESVhttp://bible.com/59/psa.94.19.esv
Today, I have many cares.
My wife and I just made an offer on our condo, the baby could come at any time (literally), work has been really stressful, and the day-to-day of just doing what needs to be done to function has been challenging. We are often tired, unsure of what development each hour will bring, and dealing with all the emotional peaks and valleys of those dynamics.
This verse is a cornerstone in both her life and mine. It’s a game-changer on the daily. The tribulations of any given season can weigh on us; but when we return our eyes to the Lord’s throne, when we recall the command to not fear, and when we remember that we serve a perfect God over all things—–indeed, these truths cheer our souls.
Todays challenges become opportunities, and tomorrow becomes a day to embrace, a new day to see God work and be a part of it!
I’m very thankful for the Psalms this morning!
Thanks for reading,
The journey out of addiction can be discouraging; I know it can. I’ve walked it. I’m still walking it. Those in recovery fight to overcome, and we lose more battles than we’d like. We live in a world of individualism and information overload, and some of that data needlessly triggers our unwanted behavior. The road is not easy.
