Prayers & Answers

Posted by on May 13, 2016 in Faith, Hope, and Love

I was thinking about prayer recently…

Do you know what’s really awesome about prayer—-about asking, seeking, and knocking?

100% of the time, GOD answers correctly.

That is really powerful stuff.

We ask for the wrong things or the right things at the wrong time and God answers accordingly. He does not respond to our prayers incorrectly. Not ever. We may not like the answer, but we can always rest assured it is the correct one, because it is being answered by God.
This is encouraging for me. Hope it is for you as well!

When Cares Are Many

Posted by on May 12, 2016 in Faith, Hope, and Love, Love of Scripture

“When the cares of my heart are many, your consolations cheer my soul.”
— Psalms‬ ‭94:19‬ ‭ESV‬‬http://bible.com/59/psa.94.19.esv

Today, I have many cares.

My wife and I just made an offer on our condo, the baby could come at any time (literally), work has been really stressful, and the day-to-day of just doing what needs to be done to function has been challenging. We are often tired, unsure of what development each hour will bring, and dealing with all the emotional peaks and valleys of those dynamics.

This verse is a cornerstone in both her life and mine. It’s a game-changer on the daily. The tribulations of any given season can weigh on us; but when we return our eyes to the Lord’s throne, when we recall the command to not fear, and when we remember that we serve a perfect God over all things—–indeed, these truths cheer our souls.

Todays challenges become opportunities, and tomorrow becomes a day to embrace,  a new day to see God work and be a part of it!

I’m very thankful for the Psalms this morning!
Thanks for reading,

C

Well, Here We Go

Posted by on May 9, 2016 in Faith, Hope, and Love, Water Project

For a great part of my life, I thought water was a given. I thought everyone on the planet had the same access to it that I did in my middle class suburban home. I was wrong.

For years, I’ve known that water access has been an issue across the globe, even in parts of the United States where it’s assumed every home has a working faucet and hot shower.

I don’t have any macrocosmic solutions, but I can do something. We can do something. Together.

This is the first post of many on the topic. For an initial look at the journey ahead, please click here.

Oh, and two things:

First, forgive the picture; I’m trying to find something more appropriate.

Second, the “Suggested Donation” is not the real suggested donation; any and every little bit helps; it’s a system issue that the total project amount is listed (trying to fix that).

Thanks for reading and checking it out!
