Monthly update…

Hi everyone,

Thanks for coming back for my monthly update. Much has happened since last time, and I thought a bulleted list would best cover the bases.

  • First, for those concerned about my well-being over the last few months, I want you to know that the Lord has shown his immense faithfulness, and my holiday season has been one of constant blessing. On a daily basis, I am overwhelmed how well things have been going since leaving my former employer on November 18. My current employer has been wonderful to me, and I am very excited about the work I’m doing. Further joys abound, including Jamie’s improved health after surgery, Landon’s continued growth, and my continued work with X3Groups. I am in an incredible place right now, and this is one of the best holiday seasons I can remember.
  • Second, as you see above, I’ve made a nifty little poster to track the fundraising for The Gift of Water project. As many of you know, I have until May 2017 for the well to be fully-funded, and I am very far from the mark. I have been making broad requests, and I intend to make several phone calls and direct solicitations in January to individuals who might be able to partner with me in order to make this happen. The poster looks gray and drab now, but as I hit new $1,000 increments over the next few months, I’ll be adding color, with the ending poster hopefully boasting many hues of green, more foliage, and other goodies. Again, this is one of those things wherein I felt led by the Lord to do something that he specifically asked of me, and I’m doing the best way I know. I have tremendous faith that he is going to allow this to come to fruition, but there is work to be done.
  • One of the ways I’ve raised some additional funds for the well has been eBay, and my final round of auctions for 2016 are currently listed. I already have some backstock purchased that will need to wait for 2017, but I’m trying to get as much as I can out the door before year end. Again, this is an area where the Lord has shown us immense blessing. The money from this hobby has also brought us through more than one challenge, and my personal collection has benefitted  from the addition of several excellent pieces purchased at low cost.
  • Finally, people have asked me about my writing, and those endeavors are basically on hold while I get my bearings at the new job and pursue the well project fundraising efforts. I still take my half hour lunch break at my new gig to jot down notes about the fantasy world that I’ve been developing, which is a nice change of pace for the day, but that’s basically it. My current goal is to continue to revise and narrow what I think will be the best story out of the many, many, many tales and legends that I’ve developed for this fantasy timeline. At some point, I will put something to the page, and my hope is to recruit some talented fellow writers and readers to give feedback. Maybe in 2020, maybe not. The Well comes first, then probably finishing that romance novel I’ve been revising forever.

And that’s where we are this December. Thanks again for all your support and encouragement over the last several months. Please email me at [email protected] if you want to touch base.
