Well, 2016 is Ending

2016 has been a rough year on alot of folks. I count myself among them.

We had to adjust to my wife’s gallbladder failure, my prior job deteriorating, and other challenges. It’s been hard.

But it’s also been a year of flourishing. I knew it would be.

I had been assured of it through prayer. But flourishing in the eyes of the Lord does not look as we might expect. It’s not until we look back on things that we see how blessed we’ve been.

No More Medicating?

Sometimes, things just don’t go our way. It’s a hard fact that we all accept, because that’s the way things are, and that’s not gonna change.

Oftentimes, when it rains, it pours. Unpleasantness, happenstance, and bad beats come in waves. That first thing doesn’t work as it should, and undoubtedly the second, wholly-unrelated, thing fails just the same. And a third thing that wasn’t even on your radar—-well, that went wrong, too.

On Proverbs 3:5-6 : Simply Trust

I shared this on an addiction recovery forum this morning. I thought the reminder was worth sharing here as well.

Truth be told, many of the Scriptures I’ve shared in the passed few weeks have been the result of the Lord’s Word speaking into my life with such potent clarity that I am compelled to direct others to the same texts. I don’t know who is seeing these posts or to what degree they have an affect, but when the Scriptures hit right, they are always worth sharing.
