Toys Are More Fun Together

From a single row alone….to many rows together!

Took tonight’s #toytimetogether to the next level !

Typically, my toddler prefers to park our toys by himself and give me a dozen or so random toys to—well, to leave him alone with the other 70. Tonight, I convinced him that it would be more fun if we shared all the mini’s together and tried to fit them all on my #hasbro #marvel helicarrier from 2012 (a generous gift from my buddy, DEAN McC).

LIFE & SUCH : January 12, 2017

Hi Everyone,

2017 is shaping up to be a pretty tremendous year. At this time in 2016, Landon was still living in the womb, we were renters, and I was struggling at work in hopes of taking next steps in our family’s future.

We begin this year with Landon in our arms or on his play mat, growing more wonderfully each day as he tries to stand, eats solid food, and discovers his sweet little voice. We’re making those good ol’ fashioned Mortgage payments on our first owned home. Jamie continues to adapt to the ever-changing rhythms of being a stay-at-home mom while I am loving my 8-5 job on a new career path in a different, healthy environment.

Yes, things are looking great, and there’s more!!!!

TOY STORIES: New Micro Machines Article Series

Posted by on Mar 23, 2016 in Fun-funs

My editor at was kind enough to indulge my latest collecting fad and ran a series of articles about the line! Typically, I give him one opinion piece a month about either the industry, a specific toy line, or some facet of collecting. Since I was out of play January and February this year, I decided to embrace a new approach to the content I’ve done there. Now that I’ve done it, I kinda wonder why this has not been part of my rotation; it’s a good way to look at a brand.

TOY STORIES: Micro Machines from Past Fast Food Givesways? Yup

Posted by on Mar 1, 2016 in Fun-funs

So, here’s some random fun.

Back in the fall, a buddy of mine gave me a Tatooine fast food promotional planet, inspired by the 1999 release of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. When one presses the button on the front of the model, the toy opens, and two micro figures move inside as if they are dueling.

My mind immediately wondered, “how can I get those figures out of there?” And it didn’t take long to find an answer.

It’s been a long time since I did any real customizing that altered a collectible past the point if no return, but I don’t think anyone will lament the casualties in this case.

Above was the first run, and below I have pictures the other two: Corscant and Naboo. I finished both in about 30 minutes total. Here’s a rundown of the steps:

Not sure what happened. I was keeping it kool-and-the-gang about this new Star Wars flic for 15 months.

Yeah, I am going a day before it “officially opens”, and sure it is the first new live-action Star Wars film in ten years; but I am not a huge JJ Abrams fan, so I figured, “it’ll be fine; not great but good.” Plus, they confirmed Lando would not be in it, so I was already kinda disappointed. I had tempered my expectations.

But then I got on the bus after work, and I don’t know how or why, but something inside me went bananas.
