DISCOVERIES The Day is Hard, But It Will Not Always Be. ISAIAH 25: 8-9

The below post is part of an ongoing series I’ll be doing in 2020 entitled, DISCOVERIES, which will feature unfinished or not-posted content found in my Draft Archives during a review conducted in January 2020. The present post contains the original content, edited lightly for publication.

Sometimes, we fetch it a beating.
We make poor choices and suffer the consequences.
We make the right choices, but the devil comes at us.

In some seasons, trouble pours on us like rain.

When Cares Are Many

Posted by on May 12, 2016 in Faith, Hope, and Love, Love of Scripture

“When the cares of my heart are many, your consolations cheer my soul.”
— Psalms‬ ‭94:19‬ ‭ESV‬‬http://bible.com/59/psa.94.19.esv

Today, I have many cares.

My wife and I just made an offer on our condo, the baby could come at any time (literally), work has been really stressful, and the day-to-day of just doing what needs to be done to function has been challenging. We are often tired, unsure of what development each hour will bring, and dealing with all the emotional peaks and valleys of those dynamics.

This verse is a cornerstone in both her life and mine. It’s a game-changer on the daily. The tribulations of any given season can weigh on us; but when we return our eyes to the Lord’s throne, when we recall the command to not fear, and when we remember that we serve a perfect God over all things—–indeed, these truths cheer our souls.

Todays challenges become opportunities, and tomorrow becomes a day to embrace,  a new day to see God work and be a part of it!

I’m very thankful for the Psalms this morning!
Thanks for reading,

C

JOHN 14: Be Encouraged, Christian.

Posted by on Apr 15, 2016 in Faith, Hope, and Love, Love of Scripture

These are Christ’s words. These are medicine. Be strong, my Christian brothers and sisters. Be strong and of most excellent courage:

“[Christ said,]“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going.” Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you had known me, you would have known my Father also.

On Proverbs 3:5-6 : Simply Trust

Posted by on Apr 14, 2016 in Addiction Recovery, Faith, Hope, and Love, Love of Scripture

I shared this on an addiction recovery forum this morning. I thought the reminder was worth sharing here as well.

Truth be told, many of the Scriptures I’ve shared in the passed few weeks have been the result of the Lord’s Word speaking into my life with such potent clarity that I am compelled to direct others to the same texts. I don’t know who is seeing these posts or to what degree they have an affect, but when the Scriptures hit right, they are always worth sharing.
